Painted en Plein Air at Mistik Creek MB near Flin Flon MB. For this painting I was just feeling the motion of the water. Realism was not as important as the 'feel'.

The great blue heron in its relaxed pose. Salt is used to get the dappled effect on the water. The light shines through the reeds in the background.

This is the second rendition of the beautiful swans I saw while plein air painting. They flew so near where I was sitting. It was a thrilling sight.

The Great Blue Heron Feasts on water creatures. I have seen them catch frogs with a quick dart of their beak into the water.

The Sky is Pink as the evening sun reflects on the clouds. One has to stop to take a picture on The Way Home sometimes.

A neighbours barn on a grey winter's day. The sun shines through the broken clouds.

Has been professionally matted ready for a frame.

This is the final painting of a series in which I changed various components of the painting's value, colour and composition. This painting is accepted into the Online Catalogue for the International Watercolur Society Show "Stories in Light" Sept. 2023- Jan 2024

The old bins lean and totter, but are a splash of colour in the snowy environment.

Painted from a photo this giant cedar had moss that hung like chartreuse yarn. I was very captivated by the sun shining through the moss.

This is the Bank Before the Falls. The Trees are silhouetted by the afternoon sun. If you were there you would hear the crashing water of the falls downstream.

The rapids on beautiful Mistik Creek MB near Flin Flon. The water appeared very rusty or dark brown and even black in places.

The inspiration was my own phot of the shore of McBride Lake SK. The ducks were added because- well- Ilke ducks.

This falls is a fantasy. Metallic highlights are on the falling water. I love the mystic quality of the Misty background. It looks amazing in an almost black matte.

This is inspired by my own photo of ducks swimming in a local pond. I wonder where the girls are? Nesting maybe?

This gate brace caught my eyes every time I drove by it. The way the shadows in the snow and the grasses poked through the drifts. It is a warm winter scene.

The High Bush Cranberry is not really a cranberry is used by many people for making a cranberry sauce. It tastes great, but it smells like dirty socks when cooked!

There's the one tree that grows all crazy and spreading it's limbs, apparently discontent to grow straight and tall. It reminds me of the memes on social media about "There's always that ONE friend".

Looking downstream at Mistik Creek MB.I love how the trees root on top of the rock.

One of my favourites with abstracted shapes and suggestions of the falls in the distance.
